Mr. Elan began his financial services career after earning a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, summa cum laude, from Boston University, and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He was a vice president in the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs & Co. where he managed client portfolios of equities, fixed income, convertible securities, and derivatives. He then joined Ernst & Young as a Senior Manager responsible for investments within the Personal Financial Counseling practice in New England. In October 2010, David earned a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley University.
From 2003 to 2010 David worked as a Principal and member of the investment committee at Windward Investment Management.. Following the acquisition of Windward, now renamed Windhaven, by the Charles Schwab Corporation, David took a two-year sabbatical during which he refined the investment process used at Income Focus.
